We're looking for a Product Manager to lead DataBridge, a major UK government department's data integration and sharing platform, at a pivotal point in its evolution. You'll be the primary product voice for a service that's helping bring legacy data — much of it currently locked away without clear ownership — into modern tooling and modern ways of working.
This is a hands-on, stakeholder-heavy role for someone who's comfortable owning a roadmap, chasing down use cases, and building alignment across a large, complex organisation.
What you'll be doing
- Acting as the primary product lead for DataBridge, working hand-in-hand with the existing supplier delivery team to shape and deliver product outcomes
- Building strong relationships across the Digital and Transformation Group and the wider business — well beyond the immediate delivery team
- Owning stakeholder engagement and communications: vision, priorities, progress, risks and benefits, told clearly and consistently
- Identifying, evaluating and prioritising new DataBridge use cases in partnership with business and technical teams
- Running discovery and pathfinding work to figure out how DataBridge supports future organisational needs
- Owning and maintaining the DataBridge product roadmap — balancing user needs, technical constraints, organisational priorities and delivery capacity
- Defining a clear product vision and success measures for DataBridge, and holding decisions accountable to evidence and outcomes
- Influencing wider organisational change — operating models, processes, governance, ways of working — where it's needed to make the product succeed
- Facilitating alignment between business, architecture, data, digital and technology teams
What we're looking for
- Proven experience managing data products, integration platforms, or enterprise data-sharing services
- A track record operating within complex transformation programmes with a data focus — particularly making legacy data available through modern tooling and new ways of working
- Solid understanding of organisational design, operating models and service adoption strategies
- Experience developing product success metrics, adoption frameworks and value measurement approaches
- Comfort working at SFIA Level 4: autonomous delivery, influence beyond your immediate team, and sound judgement in ambiguous situations
The details
- Base locations: Blackpool, Manchester, Newcastle, Leeds or Birmingham
- Travel: approx. twice a month, with the potential for up to 40% on-site presence in a given week
- Clearance: BPSS (must be able to obtain/hold)
