We’re seeking an experienced Senior DevOps Engineer to help revive a stalled, high-impact programme. This is a critical engagement where you’ll lead a structured recovery approach, bringing clarity, technical direction, and stakeholder alignment to deliver a secure, scalable platform ready for public Beta.
The Role
You’ll operate across two key phases:
- Phase 1 – Discovery & Validation (Weeks 1–4)
- Audit and assess technical debt and platform maturity.
- Align stakeholders across business and technical teams.
- Evaluate governance, compliance, and security gaps.
- Define a clear roadmap toward a Minimum Viable Product (MVP) for Beta.
- Phase 2 – Recovery Plan (Week 5)
- Present a structured Recovery Plan outlining:
- What to stop, start, and continue.
- Readiness for Beta service assessments.
- Risk-based prioritisation of API endpoints.
- Recommendations for operational sustainability.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead DevOps strategy for platform recovery and delivery.
- Design and implement secure, scalable cloud infrastructure.
- Establish best practices across CI/CD, IaC, and automation.
- Drive observability and monitoring improvements.
- Ensure compliance with government and GDPR standards.
- Collaborate with senior stakeholders and technical teams.
Strong experience with:
- Terraform (Infrastructure as Code).
- Azure DevOps and/or GitHub Actions.
- Azure Monitor, logging & observability tools.
- Key Vault and secure secrets management.
- Cloud security & compliance environments.
- Deployment automation and platform reliability.
- Experience delivering in regulated environments (public sector preferred).
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
