The Role

Day-to-day, you'll triage and resolve tickets from internal colleagues—covering both hardware and software—while setting up and configuring new devices and services. The pace is fast, the scope is broad, and there's plenty of room to sharpen your technical skills quickly.

What You'll Do

  • Act as the first line of IT support, on-site and remotely
  • Log, track, and resolve incidents within SLA targets using the ITSM platform
  • Handle service requests: password resets, account unlocks, access permissions via O365 Admin, software installs
  • Manage user accounts and groups in Active Directory
  • Support ongoing projects, including a laptop refresh and rollout
  • Carry out routine security administration
  • Liaise with third-party suppliers to keep issues moving

What You'll Bring

  • Proven experience in a technical support or service desk role
  • Familiarity with Windows Server environments, Windows 10/11, Office 365, and Active Directory
  • Confidence setting up and managing endpoints—laptops, desktops, mobiles, tablets
  • Exposure to ITIL practices (Incident Management, Change Management); certification is a plus
  • Basic networking knowledge (DHCP, DNS, TCP/IP) would be advantageous
  • Strong communication skills—able to translate technical detail for non-technical users
  • A proactive, adaptable approach and a genuine enthusiasm for problem-solving

How to prepare for a job interview at Areti Group | B Corp™

Brush Up on Your Technical Skills

For an IT consulting role, be ready to demonstrate your technical prowess. You might face questions on systems integration, cloud technologies, or even troubleshooting specific software. If you have experience with tools like AWS, Azure, or even specific programming languages, make sure you can talk about them fluently.

Showcase Your Problem-Solving Approach

IT consulting is all about solving problems for clients. Think about how you can illustrate your approach to a past challenge using the STAR method (Situation, Task, Action, Result). It's a great way to show how you tackle complex issues and come up with effective solutions.

Know the Business Impact of IT Solutions

When discussing your experiences, focus not just on the tech solutions you implemented, but also on their business impact. Employers want to see that you can connect IT with organisational goals. Prep examples that highlight how your tech contributions improved efficiency or reduced costs for past clients or projects.

Prepare for Behavioural Questions

Since IT consulting often involves teamwork and client interactions, expect behavioural questions that assess your interpersonal skills. Be prepared with examples that demonstrate your adaptability, communication skills, and how you handle client feedback. Before the interview, think of situations where you worked closely with clients to create effective IT strategies or changes.
