Award-Winning, High-Growth Tech Scale-Up | AI-Powered SaaS | £67,000–£80,000 + Market-Leading Benefits
This is a front-end–first leadership role. You’ll lead a cross-functional product engineering team, with your primary focus on:
- Usability, performance, and maintainability at scale
You’ll still collaborate closely with backend engineers, but your ownership sits firmly on the UI and client-side experience. Teams may focus on:
- New front-end modules and workflows
- Performance optimisation and UX refinement
- Design system evolution and component architecture
Focus areas rotate annually, offering long‑term growth and variety.
What You’ll Do
- Lead and coach 2–6 front‑end / full‑stack engineers
- Own front‑end technical direction, architecture, and standards
- Partner with Product and Design to shape feature scope and UX
- Build, test, and ship high‑quality, user‑facing features
- Break down complex UI challenges into clear, deliverable work
- Influence backend API design to support excellent front‑end experiences
- Stay hands‑on with code, especially while teams are scaling
- Help interview and hire senior front‑end engineers
- Champion accessibility, performance, and usability best practices
Tech Stack (Front-End Focus)
We’re looking for strong front‑end engineers who can lead technically.
- SPA state management and component architecture
Supporting stack (you’ll collaborate closely, not own alone): Experience with large, complex, data‑heavy interfaces is a major plus.
About You
Leadership titles aren’t required - front‑end leadership behaviours are. You’ll be a great fit if you:
- Are a senior front‑end or UI‑focused full‑stack engineer
- Have led technical direction for SPAs or front‑end platforms
- Enjoy mentoring engineers and raising the bar on UI quality
- Care deeply about usability, clarity, and performance
- Can challenge assumptions constructively and ask the “awkward” questions kindly
- Want to build software that people genuinely enjoy using
What You’ll Get
- £1,000+ annual learning & development budget
- 33 days holiday, rising to 40
- 4‑week paid sabbatical after 5 years
- Innovation Weeks (twice per year)
- 20 hours paid volunteering time
- Monthly team social time (in‑person & virtual)
- A genuinely kind, ambitious, and collaborative engineering culture
- Remote‑first across the UK

- Flexible working hours (37.5‑hour week)
- No mandated office days - trust and outcomes matter most
