We are looking for a highly experienced Enterprise Architect to join our team on a fractional basis to support strategic technology alignment and architectural governance across a portfolio of programmes and projects. This role is ideal for a senior-level architect with a broad industry background (public and private sectors) who can work closely with senior stakeholders to shape and guide enterprise-wide technology decisions.
Contract Details:
- Duration: 12 months
- Engagement: Outside IR35
- Commitment: 2 days per week (flexible scheduling)
- Location: Hybrid (Remote + Onsite in Luton/Northampton)
Key Responsibilities:
- Define and maintain the enterprise architecture strategy, ensuring alignment with business goals and programme objectives.
- Provide architectural oversight and assurance across multiple projects and programmes.
- Collaborate with senior leadership, programme managers, and technical teams to ensure architectural coherence and integration.
- Lead the development of target architectures, transition states, and roadmaps.
- Evaluate and recommend technology solutions, ensuring scalability, security, and sustainability.
- Support governance processes, including architecture review boards and design assurance.
- Act as a trusted advisor to senior stakeholders, including board-level executives, on technology strategy and innovation.
- Contribute to the development and refinement of architectural standards, frameworks, and best practices.
Key Requirements:
- Extensive experience as an Enterprise Architect, with a strong portfolio across both public and private sector organisations.
- Deep understanding of enterprise architecture frameworks (e.g., TOGAF, Zachman) and methodologies.
- Proven ability to influence and engage senior stakeholders, including C-level and board members.
- Strong knowledge of modern IT landscapes, including cloud platforms, integration patterns, data architecture, and security.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and strategic thinking skills.
- Comfortable working in a fractional capacity, managing priorities across multiple initiatives.
- Availability to work on-site in Luton or Northampton once per week.
