Software Architect – Data & Performance – .NET, Azure, SQL – Scotland / UK Remote – Award-Winning, High-Growth AI SaaS Scale-Up. This hire will play a critical role in defining how data, AI, and large-volume workloads power the future of the platform. This is not a “maintenance architect” role. This is a hands-on architectural leadership position shaping the backbone of a high-impact SaaS product.
Your role will involve the following:
- Defining scalable architectural solutions for high-volume data
- Leading data performance and optimisation initiatives
- Embedding security and privacy-by-design principles
- Delivering and reviewing cloud-native Azure solutions
- Driving architectural change within established codebases
- Supporting how AI and data intelligence integrate into core product workflows
This is a role for someone who enjoys modernising, evolving and strengthening architecture — not just maintaining it. We’re seeking a strong back-end architect operating confidently within:
- Performance optimisation and query tuning
You’ll be comfortable navigating complex data environments and implementing architectural improvements without disrupting delivery momentum.
- A senior back-end engineer or architect with strong system design capability
- Experienced implementing architectural change in live SaaS products
- Excellent at breaking down large, ambiguous problems into manageable deliverables
- Confident managing risk, complexity and trade-offs
- Strong collaborator who can align engineering with product and business goals
- Comfortable in a fast-scaling environment with evolving requirements
