If you enjoy helping people succeed, building positive workplace cultures, and ensuring everything runs smoothly behind the scenes, this could be the ideal opportunity.

What Will You Actually Be Doing?

  • Looking After New Starters: You'll be responsible for making sure every new employee has an excellent onboarding experience and feels welcomed from day one. This includes managing onboarding processes, preparing contracts and documentation, coordinating equipment and access, supporting employees during their first few months, and ensuring a positive employee experience from day one.
  • Being the Go-To Person for Employees: You'll be the first point of contact for all people-related questions and support. This means helping employees with holidays and leave, benefits and allowances, policies and procedures, payroll-related queries, workplace concerns, and general HR support.
  • Keeping the HR Engine Running: You'll own the day-to-day HR administration that keeps the business operating smoothly. This includes managing employee records, processing contract changes, supporting payroll activities, managing leave and sickness administration, and maintaining HR systems and data.
  • Ensuring Compliance: A key part of the role is making sure people processes are legally compliant and properly managed. You'll help ensure employment policies are up to date, employee documentation is accurate, HR practices follow relevant legislation, data is managed securely and appropriately, and the business remains protected from unnecessary risk.
  • Supporting Managers: Managers will rely on you for guidance and support when dealing with people matters. You'll advise on employee performance, development planning, difficult conversations, workplace challenges, conflict resolution, and employee wellbeing.
  • Driving Employee Experience & Culture: You'll play a central role in creating a positive, engaging, and inclusive workplace. This includes organising company events, supporting employee wellbeing initiatives, running engagement activities, improving internal communications, encouraging collaboration and team spirit, and contributing to a positive workplace culture.
  • Supporting Growth & Development: You'll help employees develop and grow throughout their careers. This could include performance review cycles, career development discussions, learning and development initiatives, feedback processes, and performance improvement support.
  • Managing People Challenges: Not every day is about celebrations and team events. You'll also help support employee relations matters, workplace disputes, absence management, long-term sickness cases, resignations and offboarding, and sensitive people-related situations.

What Does a Typical Week Look Like?

You might spend your week onboarding a new employee, supporting a manager with a performance issue, organising a team event, answering employee HR queries, managing HR records and systems, reviewing employee engagement initiatives, updating policies and procedures, supporting salary review processes, running development conversations, and managing absence and leave requests.

Ideal Candidate Profile: We're interested in hearing from professionals who have experience supporting employees and driving positive workplace experiences. Typical backgrounds may include People Operations Manager, HR Manager, HR Business Partner, People Partner, People & Culture Manager, Employee Experience Manager, or HR Generalist.

How You'll Succeed: The strongest candidates can clearly demonstrate experience supporting employee populations of 50, 100 or 300+ employees, confidently managing HR processes and employee relations matters, improving employee engagement, culture or workplace experience, advising managers on people-related issues, and balancing employee wellbeing with business needs.

The Opportunity in One Sentence! This is a hands-on People Operations role responsible for employee experience, HR administration, compliance, performance management, benefits, and workplace culture within a growing business.
