Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced Business Analyst with a strong track record of delivering projects within UK Government environments. The successful candidate will play a key role in gathering, analysing, and validating business requirements, ensuring alignment with project objectives and government standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Work closely with stakeholders to gather and document functional and non-functional requirements.
- Facilitate workshops, interviews, and stakeholder sessions to capture needs and expectations.
- Translate business needs into clear, actionable requirements and user stories.
- Analyse processes, systems, and workflows to identify areas for improvement.
- Support solution design, ensuring alignment with business goals and compliance with government frameworks.
- Assist in defining acceptance criteria and support testing activities.
- Ensure documentation and outputs comply with Cabinet Office and departmental standards.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including project managers, developers, testers, and architects.
Essential Skills & Experience
- Proven experience as a Business Analyst within UK Government or public sector projects.
- Active SC Clearance (mandatory).
- Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills.
- Experience working within Agile delivery environments (Scrum, Kanban).
- Ability to produce high-quality documentation: requirements, user stories, process maps, use cases, and business process models.
- Knowledge of GDS (Government Digital Service) principles and standards.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills.
Desirable Skills
- Previous experience working on large-scale digital transformation projects in government.
- Familiarity with data-driven projects, systems integration, or legacy system replacement.
- Experience with tools such as JIRA, Confluence, or equivalent.
- Understanding of security, compliance, and data protection requirements in government.
