Freelance Back-End Engineer (Python or Node.js) – 3-Month Contract
Location: Remote (UK-based candidates only)
Contract Type: Freelance – Outside IR35
Duration: 9 months (with potential for extension)
Start Date: ASAP
About the Role
We’re building something new and exciting—and we’re looking for a talented Back-End Engineer to help shape the platform behind it. The front end is already in motion, and now we need someone who can bring the back end to life.
You’ll be responsible for plugging in APIs, building clean and secure CRM-style logic, and creating user dashboards that are simple, powerful, and intuitive. This is a fully remote role where you’ll work independently but collaboratively with a small, fast-moving team.
What You’ll Do
- Design and build scalable back-end services using Python or Node.js
- Integrate third-party APIs and internal services
- Develop CRM-style logic to manage users, data, and workflows
- Create and support user dashboards with meaningful, actionable data
- Ensure systems are secure, maintainable, and well-documented
- Collaborate with front-end developers, designers, and non-technical stakeholders
What We’re Looking For
- Strong experience with Python or Node.js in production environments
- Proven ability to build and integrate APIs
- Comfortable working independently and taking ownership of deliverables
- Familiarity with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, GCP, or similar) is a plus
- Excellent communication skills and a collaborative mindset
- Must be UK-based and eligible to work Outside IR35
