Job Description

Position Summary:

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Accounting Manager to lead the accounting operations within the Europe region. This role will oversee regional financial close activities (focus on development), statutory compliance, technical accounting matters, external audits, and the development of scalable accounting processes that support a capital-intensive, high-growth data centre infrastructure business.

The successful candidate will partner closely with Portfolio Management/Investments, Tax, Treasury, FP&A, Construction, and other business leaders to ensure accurate financial reporting and compliance while supporting strategic growth across the EMEA portfolio.

Key Responsibilities:

Financial Reporting & Close

  • Manage the monthly, quarterly, and annual accounting close processes for all current investment entities
  • Ensure timely and accurate preparation of financial statements in accordance with IFRS.
  • Oversee account reconciliations, journal entries, intercompany transactions (inclusive of interest free and interest-bearing loans), and balance sheet reviews.
  • Maintain strong internal controls and ensure compliance with corporate accounting policies.
  • Drive standardization, efficiency, and automation of accounting processes across the region through use of AI and other technology resources as available

Third-Party Provider Oversight & Governance

  • Manage relationships with third-party accounting firms, shared service providers, and outsourced finance partners supporting operations.
  • Review accounting deliverables prepared by external providers, including month-end close activities, financial statements, statutory filings, and account reconciliations.
  • Drive accountability and continuous improvement across outsourced service providers.

Statutory Compliance & Audit

  • Coordinate local statutory reporting requirements and external audits as required with outside co sec and other third-party partners
  • Support the preparation and filing of statutory financial statements and local compliance requirements.
  • Partner with Tax teams on VAT, corporate tax, transfer pricing, and other regulatory matters.

Development Accounting

  • Partner with Construction team and Cost Consultants ensuring seamless supplier management, accruals preparation, and cash forecasting
  • Support Ad Hoc reporting needs of the business as required
  • Monitor project spending, accruals, commitments, and asset transfers from CIP to placed-in-service status.
  • Ensure timely capitalization and depreciation of commissioned data center assets, including mechanical, electrical, cooling, power distribution, network, and building infrastructure.
  • Collaborate with project teams to evaluate accounting implications of contract modifications, vendor claims, change orders, contingencies, and project delays.
  • Support investment committee reviews and project governance by providing accounting guidance and analysis on development-related transactions.

Qualifications:

Required

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
  • CPA, ACA, ACCA, CA, or equivalent professional accounting qualification.
  • 7+ years of progressive accounting experience, public accounting experience a plus
  • Strong knowledge of IFRS
  • Advanced knowledge of ERP systems (Yardi Voyager or Procore a plus).
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.

Preferred

  • Experience within data centers, technology infrastructure, telecommunications, cloud services, real estate, construction, or capital-intensive industries.
