The Vice President of Logistics & Industrial Asset Management will lead Ares’ European Logistics & Industrial (L&I) asset management strategy. The role is responsible for defining and driving value creation across the L&I portfolio, working in close collaboration with MARQ, Ares’ vertically integrated operating platform, local country heads, and the Portfolio Management team. This position is a functional and strategic leadership role and sits at the intersection of strategy, asset execution, portfolio oversight, ESG, and growth, and plays a key role in supporting acquisitions and capital raising for logistics and industrial investment strategies.

Key Responsibilities
  • Asset Management & Value Creation: Oversee and approve business plans for L&I assets and deals, jointly with Portfolio Management and Marq team where appropriate. Track and review assets budgets, IRR, KPIs, milestones, and performance, ensuring consistency between asset‑level delivery and portfolio‑level targets. Identify and drive value creation initiatives, including leasing optimisation, capex prioritisation, operational efficiencies, and reversion capture. Identify cost‑saving opportunities through enhanced internal asset management processes and scale efficiencies, in coordination with MARQ and Portfolio Management.
  • Strategy Leadership: Define, own, and continuously refine Ares’ European Logistics & Industrial asset management strategy, in close coordination with the Portfolio Management team and the MARQ team. Develop and maintain a coherent, pan‑European view of L&I markets, including occupier trends, leasing strategies, capex priorities, ESG requirements, and exit dynamics. Act as the senior internal reference point for Logistics & Industrial asset management across Europe.
  • Collaboration with MARQ, Country Heads & Portfolio Management: Work in close partnership with MARQ and local country heads to ensure alignment between asset strategy and on‑the‑ground execution. Provide strategic guidance, challenge, and oversight to operating teams without direct line management responsibility. Support coordination of cross‑country initiatives, co‑invests strategies and portfolio‑wide programmes. Collaborate with the Portfolio Management team on portfolio construction and concentration analysis, performance monitoring and reporting.
  • Operating Partner Oversight: When applicable, oversee Operating Partners across countries/deals to ensure consistent execution of asset‑level business plans, alignment with portfolio objectives, and effective escalation/resolution of operational issues.
  • Disposition & Exit Execution: Identify assets that are ready for sale and recommend optimal exit timing and route‑to‑market, in alignment with portfolio objectives. Lead and drive the disposition process end‑to‑end, coordinating internal stakeholders (Investment team, Portfolio Management, MARQ, and local country heads) and external parties (brokers, legal and tax advisors) to deliver a timely and successful execution. Oversee preparation for sale, including business plan delivery, data room readiness, buyer due diligence coordination, and management presentations, ensuring a consistent narrative and value maximisation.
  • ESG & Sustainability: Ensure ESG is a core pillar of Logistics & Industrial asset management, working closely with ESG teams, MARQ, and Portfolio Management to improve sustainability and energy performance, support decarbonisation pathways, and enhance long‑term asset resilience and value. Embed ESG objectives into asset business plans, capital expenditure decisions, and portfolio reporting.
  • Acquisitions & Growth Support: Support Investment and Acquisition teams on new Logistics & Industrial transactions, alongside Portfolio Management, including asset management input into underwriting, feasibility, capex, and operational assessments, ensuring appropriate technical and operational inspections by the L&I asset management function.
  • Capital Raising & Strategic Initiatives: Be an integral contributor to capital raising efforts for Logistics & Industrial‑focused investment strategies. Work with the Portfolio Management team to provide asset‑level and portfolio‑level insights for investor materials, due diligence processes, ongoing portfolio reporting and strategy articulation.
  • Team & Capability Development: Identify future capability and resourcing needs for the Logistics & Industrial asset management function. Contribute to recruitment processes and onboarding where relevant, in coordination with senior management. Support a strong performance culture and knowledge‑sharing across Asset Management, MARQ, and Portfolio Management, without formal people management responsibility.
Candidate Profile
  • Experience: Extensive experience in European Logistics and/or Industrial asset management within a private equity, institutional, or large‑scale real estate platform. Strong track record in Asset management, portfolio oversight, value creation, and execution, working closely with portfolio management functions. Proven experience operating effectively in a matrix environment alongside operating platforms and country teams. Experience supporting acquisitions and capital raising for sector‑focused strategies.
  • Skills & Attributes: Deep understanding of European Logistics & Industrial markets. Strategic mindset with strong execution capability. Ability to influence and lead through collaboration rather than formal authority. Strong financial, analytical, and data‑driven approach. Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills. Clear commitment to ESG integration and sustainable real estate practices.

Reporting Relationships: Managing Director, Real Estate Equity. There is no set deadline to apply for this job opportunity. Applications will be accepted on an ongoing basis until the search is no longer active.
