Join our Private Equity Real Estate team in London. Qualified candidates will be invited to interview for a Private Equity Real Estate Analyst position within Ares Secondaries. Analysts will be responsible for a variety of both investment and asset management responsibilities as described further below. The Analyst will contribute to investing the latest mandate (ARS X), which seeks to capitalize on opportunities across a wide range of real‑estate asset classes and geographies. The investment focus will be on particular themes including (urban) industrial and logistics, multifamily, SFR, student housing, data centres, hospitality and more. The geographic focus for the Analyst will be coverage of Continental Europe and the UK. The role provides exposure to a range of investment structures including but not limited to traditional secondaries, asset or asset‑backed corporate platform recapitalizations, restructurings, preferred equity investments as well as structured solutions to other real‑estate sponsors. The Analyst will be an integral part of the team, included in both internal and external interactions with advisors, general partners, limited partners, for the purposes of deal sourcing, deal due diligence as well as fundraising.
Responsibilities
- Conduct quantitative and qualitative due diligence on private equity real‑estate transactions, thereby evaluating new investment opportunities by conducting due diligence, researching industries, asset classes, markets and comparables.
- Engage in diligence of fund sponsors and local operating partners.
- Responsibility for financial models as part of an underwriting team.
- Responsibility for maintaining financial models for asset management purposes.
- Encouraged to develop a network of contacts in the private equity real estate industry through deal negotiations, due diligence activities and attendance at industry conferences and fund sponsor annual meetings.
- Prepare presentations to investors, firm partner group and counterparties.
Job Requirements
- 1–2 years’ experience in investment banking, private equity real‑estate or private equity real‑estate advisory.
- Strong financial analysis, writing, communication, and presentation skills.
- Ability to work both independently and as a productive member of transaction teams.
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field such as finance, economics, math, or data analysis preferred.
