Ares is currently seeking a Paralegal in the London office who will be responsible for working with the Legal team, specifically the Ares Infrastructure legal team, as well as investment professionals and other non-investment groups at the firm to administer principal duties listed below.
Primary Functions and Essential Responsibilities:- Deal Transaction Support: including responding to ad hoc queries from the Deal, Operations and Finance teams
- Entity Formation and Maintenance: including responding to queries on the entity database, monthly entity updates, responding to ad hoc queries from Tax and Operations teams and maintaining internal officer and directorship lists
- NDAs, Release and Reliance Letters: including reviewing, drafting and negotiating documents, conflicts checking and clearance, responding to and resolving conflicts queries and responding to return/destruction requests
- Drafting and reviewing Incumbency Certificates
- Know-Your-Customer (KYC) Checks: including creating and maintaining KYC packs and responding to KYC inquiries
- Billing Matters: including coding, reviewing and processing invoices
- Assistance managing board meeting for public reporting vehicles, including minutes, board material dissemination, and other related functions.
- Any other tasks as requested by and to support the Ares Infrastructure team from time to time
Paralegal certification, Legal Practice Certificate (LPC), Law Degree or other appropriate qualification
Experience Required:1-2 years Paralegal experience with a City law firm and/or in-house financial services legal team
General Requirements:- Personable, confident, responsive and a self-starter
- Skilled with Adobe Acrobat Pro, Microsoft Office Suite and other MS Office software products, especially MS Word, Excel and Visio
- Keen eye for detail
- Articulate and concise communicator (verbal and written) with good negotiation skills
- Highly organized and responsive
