The Development Manager is a leadership position which will play a critical role in ensuring the efficient and ongoing expansion of Ada's Infrastructure footprint across EMEA. Reporting to the Head of EMEA, this position will require the successful candidate to collaborate closely with the Energy Manager and the Site selection manager to bring new sites to a point where Data Centre construction may commence.

The Development Manager will take ownership of a newly purchased site from the Site selection manager and initiate all development tasks as required, i.e. potential rezoning requests, power and permitting applications if required, agree site maintenance and landlord responsibilities and ensure same are in place. The successful candidate will work with the design and delivery teams to design the proposed building, select long lead equipment, get contracts in place with general contractors and own the overall schedule for the development up to construction start at which point they will hand over to the Delivery team.

Key responsibilities:

  • Ownership of site from purchase until construction start.
  • Owner and develop for the overall site schedule through the development phase, i.e. green field (or brownfield) site through construction start.
  • Work with the Energy Manager to ensure a power application has been completed and that power delivery is happening in a timely manner.
  • Be the ADA point of contact from site selection through to construction start for all statutory bodies and general enquiries on a site.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in an engineering discipline with experience in business or finance.
  • Proven experience in a site development and project execution role with 5+ years experience in the role or similar.
  • A technical understanding of data centres and the key technical components that are required to bring green or brownfield sites to delivery stage.
  • Excellent communication (written and spoken) and interpersonal skills.
