Job Description Ares Digital Infrastructure (“ADI”) is part of Ares's Real Assets platform, created to invest in high-quality digital infrastructure assets to support the growth of the ever-expanding global demand for data, cloud computing, and artificial intelligence. Ares Digital Infrastructure has built a large portfolio of data center assets globally, recently completing its inaugural US$2.4 billion data center development fund in Japan. ADI is supported by Ada Infrastructure, its wholly-owned global data center operating platform. Ada Infrastructure provides development, leasing, asset management, facilities management, security, and other customer services to ADI’s data center asset portfolio. The team is seeking a Senior Associate in London who will work closely with the investment team on analyzing, managing due diligence, and executing investment opportunities. This is an opportunity for a strong performer who has experience with investment and financial analysis through other experience.
Responsibilities
- Lead financial modelling, valuation, underwriting, and scenario analysis for prospective investments, developments, and portfolio optimisation initiatives.
- Prepare and present investment analysis, underwriting conclusions, and risk assessments for investment committee and senior management review.
- Manage transaction execution processes from origination through closing, including coordination of legal, financial, tax, technical, insurance, environmental, and commercial diligence workstreams.
- Participate in the structuring, negotiation, and execution of acquisitions, developments, joint ventures, forward purchase agreements, financings, and asset disposals.
- Coordinate external advisors, consultants, lenders, counterparties, and operating partners throughout transaction processes.
- Support origination activities through market mapping, relationship development, industry research, and evaluation of new investment opportunities.
- Prepare investment committee memoranda, executive summaries, board materials, and investor presentations.
- Communicate investment findings and recommendations effectively to senior executives, investment committee members, investors, lenders, and external counterparties.
- Support investment governance processes and ensure key risks, assumptions, and decisions are appropriately documented.
- Support asset management and value creation initiatives relating to leasing, development, capital expenditure, financing, refinancing, operational performance, and monetisation activities.
- Conduct market, competitive, customer, and transaction analysis while tracking industry trends, technology developments, capital markets activity, and relevant regulatory developments to inform investment decisions.
- Contribute to fund-level initiatives, portfolio reporting, strategic planning, and investor communications.
- Support the ongoing development of investment processes, underwriting methodologies, market intelligence, and internal knowledge resources.
- Manage project timelines and coordinate junior team members, advisors, and third-party consultants to ensure timely execution of transaction and portfolio initiatives.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor's degree or international equivalent with excellent academic record
- Experience Required: 5-8 years of investment banking, private equity, or principal investing experience
- General Requirements: Self-motivated and driven; ability to work effectively in a collegial, fast moving, demanding, dynamic and global business
- Fluent spoken and written communication in English.
- Highly proficient in Microsoft Excel with strong technical skills and ability to build complex operating models
- Excellent research and due diligence skills with an aptitude for numeracy
- Exceptional interpersonal skills as well as being a team player
- Evidence of intellectual curiosity, creative problem-solving skills, and adaptability
- Solid organizational skills, high attention to detail and ability to prioritize
