Ares is currently searching for a highly motivated, detail‑oriented team player to join the European Credit Group as an Associate in Product Management and Investor Relations at the London office. The Associate will work closely with the London‑based Product Management and Investor Relations group to support investor relations efforts, including fundraising, ongoing fund reporting, investor presentation support, addressing investor information requests, and market/competitor research analysis.
Primary Functions and Essential Responsibilities
- Assist Product Specialists by providing information and expertise on firm strategies and funds to clients.
- Produce fund reporting for investors on a monthly, quarterly and ad‑hoc basis.
- Build new client materials and prospect/marketing materials; update market and fund‑specific data within existing materials.
- Develop strong working relationships with internal subject‑matter experts across Portfolio Management, Finance, Operations, Legal, Compliance and Human Resources.
- Produce monthly/quarterly portfolio reports for investors in commingled funds and separately managed accounts, collaborating with Finance and Portfolio Management teams to collate relevant data.
- Respond to investor requests with audit confirmations, financial statement and fee data requests, and update investor details including wire instructions and authorized signatories.
- Drive the creation of responses to investor questionnaires, due diligence and ad‑hoc requests from existing and potential clients.
- Create and edit marketing investor materials for co‑investment and funds.
- Maintain quantitative and qualitative key metrics on competitors.
- Own client materials and prospect/marketing materials, updating market and fund‑specific data on a quarterly or ad‑hoc basis.
- Take on ad‑hoc projects and support teammates as needed.
Qualifications
- Minimum 2‑3 years of experience.
- Bachelor’s degree with strong academic performance.
- Fixed income or loan/credit experience preferred but not required.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills and ability to represent the Firm professionally.
- Exceptional attention to detail, prioritizing accuracy and organization.
- Highly proficient in Word, PowerPoint and Excel.
- Problem‑solving skills, able to research solutions and suggest resolutions.
- Highly motivated self‑starter with the ability to set priorities, multi‑task and monitor workload to meet aggressive deadlines.
- Takes initiative and has a strong work ethic.
- Creative, ready to think outside the box and contribute to improving workflows.
- Proficiency in financial accounting and quantitative analysis skills.
- Demonstrated experience working in a team environment with multiple tasks.
