Arenko is on a mission to power a zero-carbon grid. Since 2015 we've been building the software that makes the clean energy transition actually work, and we're scaling fast in one of the most consequential industries of our lifetime. We're fast-paced, inclusive, and built by self-motivated problem solvers who'd rather fix something hard than hand it off. Everyone here takes a collaborative approach to growing the business and each other. If you want to see your work matter, this is a good place to land.

As the world shifts to a high-renewables, low-carbon energy system, the grid needs a new kind of intelligence, one that can balance supply and demand in real time and unlock the full value of clean energy assets. That's where we come in. Arenko is the software partner for large, complex clean energy portfolios. Our platform, Nimbus, enables operators of batteries, renewables, and multi-technology portfolios to manage and optimise their assets across some of the world's most sophisticated electricity markets. Today we control over 1.2 GW of BESS and renewable capacity for leading asset owners, independent power producers, and integrated utilities worldwide and the pipeline is growing quickly. Energy storage is fundamental to the energy transition, and delivering it responsibly is non-negotiable for us.

About the Role: We're looking for a proactive Settlements & Market Data Analyst who's equal parts finance brain and data detective, someone who doesn't just reconcile numbers, but wants to understand why the numbers are what they are. You'll own the day-to-day settlement activities for balancing services, trading markets, and ancillary services across Arenko's Route to Market service. That means running invoicing, imbalance allocation, and meter data integrity so our customers get paid the right amount at the right time. It also means picking up the phone to NESO, Elexon, EPEX, and other external counterparties to chase down the truth when data doesn't line up. If you enjoy a good puzzle and the detective work that comes with it, this seat will keep you busy.

Settlements are only half the job. The other half is using what you learn from the data to make the whole system better. You'll look for patterns in settlement flows, flag inefficiencies, and work directly with our Product and Technology teams to shape the roadmap for automating settlement workflows. Your insights won't sit in a report, they'll become features. This is a great role for someone with a solid foundation in energy settlement data and a genuine curiosity about both finance and analytics, who wants to move into a high-growth environment where their work meaningfully shifts the business. You'll report to the Head of Trade Products, with a dotted line to the Chief Finance Officer.

Key responsibilities:

  • Settlement operations & invoicing: Run daily and monthly invoicing and payments for power and flexibility services across our customer base; Track market access costs end-to-end to give the business full financial transparency; Support accurate allocation of imbalance cash flow across asset types and markets.
  • Data integrity & market monitoring: Monitor the settlement of electricity market transactions, including imbalance, balancing mechanism and capacity market payments, and ABSVD; Verify meter data accuracy and lead the manual meter data replacement process with Elexon when discrepancies are found; Analyse settlement data to surface inefficiencies, trends, and opportunities for the business; Support regulatory compliance across all trades and settlements; Help manage collateral balances at exchanges to keep us inside our limits.
  • Stakeholder engagement & continuous improvement: Be our go-to point of contact with NESO, Elexon, EPEX, and other counterparties when investigating discrepancies, building relationships, and understanding how the whole system fits together; Partner with Product and Technology teams to turn data quality issues into roadmap priorities; Contribute directly to automating our settlement workflows as we scale.

Who are you?

  • You have a genuine interest in both finance and data, you see them as two lenses on the same problem, not separate disciplines.
  • You have a proactive mindset, you spot the gap and fill it rather than waiting to be told.
  • You have the confidence to pick up the phone to an external counterparty and hold your own in a technical conversation.
  • You have excellent communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills.
  • You have strong analytical skills with Excel, SQL and Python; comfort with trading and accounting systems (Access Financials experience welcome).
  • You have proven experience in energy market settlements is a plus with knowledge of the GB energy market, NESO, and Elexon processes being a double plus.

So what’s in it for you?

We know that rewarding our employees is the best way to make them feel valued. We currently offer the following benefits with more to come in future:

  • 25 days holidays in addition to public holidays, carry over flex and festive office closure.
  • A genuine approach to flexible working.

  • Premium Private Medical Insurance through Freedom Elite on a Medical History Disregarded (MHD) basis.
