About the role
Working closely with the Financial Controller, General Manager, and senior leadership team, you'll play a key role in supporting the financial health and continued growth of the racecourse. This is a hands‑on position offering exposure to both strategic planning and operational delivery especially during high‑energy race day events. You will:
- Support budgeting, forecasting, and financial performance monitoring
- Provide financial insights to inform strategic decisions
- Work with senior leadership on business planning and analysis
- Promote strong cost control across the organisation
- Assist with race day finance, including forecasts and post‑event reporting
- Support timely and accurate production of management accounts
- Monitor contracts to ensure value for money
- Assist with balance sheet management and financial compliance
- Prepare regular financial reports for management and the board
- Build effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders
You’ll be at the heart of decision‑making, helping to steer the business both strategically and operationally.
About you
- Part‑qualified (or working towards) ACCA/CIMA or similar qualification
- Experience within racecourse, sport, leisure or events (advantageous)
- Commercially astute, articulate and confident influencing senior stakeholders
- Strong analytical, modelling and IT skills
- A dynamic and insightful leader with strategic and operational experience
