About the Role

At Lingfield Marriott Hotel, we are looking for a motivated and reliable Casual Breakfast Chef to join our kitchen team and help deliver an exceptional breakfast experience for our guests. Working within a busy hotel environment, you will play an important role in ensuring that every dish is prepared and presented to the high standards expected by our guests.

The role will involve working independently to prepare, batch cook and replenish breakfast items throughout service, ensuring the breakfast offering is consistently fresh, appealing and of excellent quality. You will take pride in maintaining a clean, organised and safe kitchen while following Marriott's food safety, hygiene and operational standards.

Although the role will primarily focus on breakfast service, flexibility is essential, as you may occasionally be required to support other kitchen services to cover colleague absence, holidays or changing business needs.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

As a Casual Breakfast Chef at Lingfield Marriott Hotel, your responsibilities will include:

• Preparing, cooking and presenting high-quality breakfast dishes in line with the hotel’s standards and guest expectations.
• Ensuring the breakfast offering is well-stocked, freshly prepared and replenished throughout service.
• Managing food preparation and cooking efficiently to meet the demands of a busy hotel breakfast operation.
• Maintaining excellent standards of cleanliness, organisation and hygiene throughout the kitchen.
• Following all food safety, health and safety procedures, including correct food storage, temperature monitoring and allergen management.
• Preventing cross-contamination and ensuring all food is handled safely and responsibly.
• Reporting any maintenance issues, hygiene concerns or potential hazards promptly to the relevant manager.
• Attending all required health and safety, food safety and other relevant training.
• Complying with hotel security procedures, fire regulations and all applicable food safety legislation.
• Working collaboratively with the wider kitchen and hotel teams to deliver a smooth and positive guest experience.
• Providing support to other kitchen operations when required, maintaining flexibility to meet the hotel’s operational needs.
• Following environmentally responsible practices, including minimising food waste and using resources efficiently.
• Representing Lingfield Marriott Hotel professionally by demonstrating a positive attitude, attention to detail and a commitment to guest satisfaction.

The Person We Are Looking For

The ideal Casual Breakfast Chef will be passionate about food, take pride in their work and understand the importance of delivering a consistently high standard of service within a branded hotel environment.

You will have:

• A strong focus on delivering excellent food quality and guest satisfaction.
• Previous experience in a similar breakfast chef or hotel kitchen role.
• The ability to work independently, manage your time effectively and use your initiative during busy breakfast services.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to work positively as part of a team.
• A flexible and adaptable approach, with a willingness to support other kitchen services when required.
• The ability to remain calm, organised and efficient in a fast-paced environment.
• A good understanding of food hygiene, food safety, allergen awareness and kitchen health and safety procedures.
• A Food Safety Certificate or equivalent qualification.
• An NVQ Level 3 qualification in Professional Cookery or Food Preparation and Cooking, preferably.
• Previous experience working within a branded hotel, ideally in a Marriott or similar quality-focused hospitality environment, which would be an advantage.
