Who is Doncaster Racecourse and the Hilton Garden Inn? Home to the world’s oldest classic horse race, the St. Leger, Doncaster Racecourse is a unique multipurpose venue welcoming over 500,000 guests to over 35 fixtures each year and a full events calendar hosting events such as Weddings, Conferences, Boxing, Summer Crafting, Classic Car Show, Antiques Fayres and lots more. About the role: We’re looking for an enthusiastic and organised Racing Executive to support the Clerk of the Course at Doncaster Racecourse. This hands‑on role ensures smooth, safe, and compliant raceday operations while providing outstanding service to owners, trainers, and racing connections.
Responsibilities for the successful Racing Executive include (but not limited to):
- Deliver race meetings in line with BHA rules and regulations, providing accurate Going Reports and liaising with trainers and officials.
- Work with the ARC and BHA race planning teams to deliver a successful and competitive race programme.
- Manage budgets, plan ahead, and ensure all health and safety requirements are met.
- Lead, motivate, and develop the Grounds and Estates Team.
- Recruit and coordinate essential raceday staff including vets, doctors, and other key officials.
- Communicate effectively with stakeholders including trainers, owners, jockeys, stable staff, the BHA, RCA, and media.
- Support the Clerk of the Course with all aspects of raceday operations and owner experience.
- Collaborate with ARC’s marketing, hospitality, and events teams to ensure smooth information flow and outstanding raceday presentation.
The person we are looking for as a Racing Executive has:
- Strong communicator with excellent organisational and administrative skills.
- Confident working in a fast‑paced, public‑facing environment.
- Knowledge of horseracing essential; prior racing or event experience preferred.
- IT proficient (Microsoft Office) and comfortable working both independently and as part of a team.
