RETAIL BAR & HOSPITALITY MANAGERS – BATH RACECOURSE

About the Role

This is a casual, flexible position focused on managing our bars, food outlets, or hospitality suites on race days and selected event dates. As a Retail Bar or Hospitality Manager, you\’ll take ownership of service delivery, team performance, and operational efficiency across your designated area.

What You\’ll Do

• Lead, motivate, and support your team to deliver consistent, high-quality service.
• Ensure every guest receives a warm welcome and professional, attentive experience.
• Brief, train, and develop team members so they\’re confident and event-ready.
• Manage staffing levels, break schedules, and shift planning on the day.
• Maintain stock levels, assist with rotation, and minimise wastage.
• Uphold excellent standards of cleanliness and compliance across Health & Safety, COSHH, and licensing requirements.
• Resolve customer queries or complaints promptly and professionally.
• Create a positive, energetic atmosphere for both guests and staff.
• Drive sales, upselling opportunities, and overall business performance.
• Delegate tasks clearly to ensure smooth, efficient service delivery.

What We\’re Looking For

• Proven experience in retail or hospitality management within fast-paced environments.
• Confident leadership skills with the ability to inspire and support diverse teams.
• Excellent communication and customer service standards.
• Flexible, adaptable, and committed to delivering first-class experiences.
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to handle challenges calmly.
• Professional, well-presented, and guest-focused at all times.
• Experience using tills and PDQ machines.
• Comfortable working outdoors in all weather conditions.

Desirable Experience

• Background in premium F&B, events, or restaurant management.
• Knowledge of licensing, food hygiene, and health & safety regulations.
• Personal Licence Holder (advantageous).
• Strong organisation, planning, and systems skills.
• Track record of increasing sales and improving operational standards.
• Natural ability to motivate teams and encourage positive working culture.
