About Us: Arena Racing Company operates some of the most well-known racecourses in the UK, including Bath, Brighton, Chepstow, Doncaster, Ffos Las, Fontwell Park, Great Yarmouth, Hereford, Lingfield Park, Newcastle, Royal Windsor, Sedgefield, Southwell, Uttoxeter, Wolverhampton, and Worcester.

The Role:
This is a casual, flexible position centred around delivering outstanding service to our guests on race days, with additional dates available for the right candidate. As a Retail Bar or Hospitality Manager, you’ll be responsible for overseeing food and beverage operations, leading a team, and ensuring that our venues run smoothly and meet the highest standards.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead a team to deliver consistent, high-quality food and beverage service
  • Provide top-notch customer service and ensure guests are always treated with professionalism and courtesy
  • Mentor and coach team members to improve performance and maintain high standards
  • Oversee the training and development of your team, ensuring they are fully briefed and operational
  • Manage staffing levels, breaks, and shift requirements to meet operational needs
  • Maintain stock levels and assist with stock rotation to prevent waste
  • Ensure cleanliness and compliance with Health and Safety, COSHH, and licensing policies
  • Resolve customer complaints quickly and professionally, in line with company policies
  • Promote a welcoming, happy atmosphere for guests and staff
  • Proactively drive sales and maximise business opportunities
  • Delegate tasks effectively to ensure operational efficiency

Skills & Qualities:

  • Proven experience in fast-paced retail or hospitality management
  • Strong leadership skills with an eye for detail and the ability to motivate teams
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills
  • Flexible and adaptable with a strong passion for service excellence
  • Ability to manage conflict and resolve issues calmly and professionally
  • Smart, professional, and well-presented at all times
  • Experience with operating tills and PDQ machines
  • Ability to work in all weather conditions with a positive attitude

The Ideal Candidate:

  • Previous experience in a high-end food and beverage or restaurant environment
  • Knowledge of licensing, food hygiene, and health & safety regulations
  • Excellent organisational and planning skills
  • Proven ability to maximise sales and improve operational standards
  • Strong IT skills and ability to work with various systems
  • Ability to motivate and encourage team commitment
  • Positive, approachable, and team-oriented attitude
