Warehouse and Depot Manager Location: St Ives, CambridgeshireJob Type: Full TimeSalary: Competitive About the Role We are looking for an experienced and proactive Warehouse & Depot Manager to lead our warehouse operations and drive efficiency, performance, and continuous improvement across the depot. This is a key leadership role responsible for ensuring the effective management of warehouse resources, stock, people, and budgets while creating a collaborative, high-performing team culture. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in optimising warehouse utilisation, implementing best-practice warehouse management processes, and developing a unified team across all operational areas. Key Responsibilities Warehouse Operational Efficiency Lead the day-to-day management of warehouse and depot operations, ensuring efficient and safe working practices. Drive improvements in warehouse utilisation, layout, and storage capacity to maximise operational effectiveness. Implement and continuously improve warehouse management systems, processes, and controls. Ensure resources, equipment, and labour are effectively planned and utilised to meet business demands. Identify and deliver opportunities for operational efficiencies and cost reduction. Monitor operational performance and implement continuous improvement initiatives. People Leadership & Development Lead, motivate, and develop warehouse teams to create a positive, high-performance culture. Foster a "One Team" approach, encouraging collaboration across all warehouse operations rather than separate functional teams. Support skills development, succession planning, and ongoing training initiatives. Set clear objectives and performance expectations for team members. Develop, implement, and monitor Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to drive accountability and performance improvements. Promote engagement, teamwork, and employee wellbeing across the depot. Budget & Cost Management Manage warehouse and depot budgets, ensuring expenditure is controlled and aligned with business objectives. Monitor operational costs and identify opportunities to improve productivity and reduce waste. Deliver financial targets through effective resource planning and cost management. Produce regular reports on performance, costs, and operational outcomes. About You We are looking for someone who can combine strong operational management with excellent leadership skills. Essential Skills & Experience Proven experience managing warehouse, depot, or logistics operations. Strong understanding of warehouse management systems and operational best practices. Experience driving operational efficiency and continuous improvement initiatives. Track record of managing budgets and controlling operational costs. Strong people management experience, including coaching, development, and performance management. Experience implementing and managing KPIs and performance metrics. Excellent organisational, planning, and problem-solving skills. Strong communication and stakeholder management abilities. Desirable Experience within events, logistics, manufacturing, or distribution environments. Knowledge of health and safety regulations within warehouse operations.
