The Role
As a Sports Trader at MetaWin, you will be central to the performance and profitability of our sportsbook. You will leverage Sportradar's industry-leading technology including MTS and CTRL alongside AI-powered analytics tools to manage pricing strategy, monitor market movements, control exposure, and drive sustainable margin across all sports and betting products. This is not a passive, system-dependent role. We expect our traders to be intelligent operators: using AI as a co-pilot, applying human judgment where it counts, and continuously improving the way we trade.
Key Responsibilities
- Trading & AI-Augmented Pricing: Set and dynamically adjust odds across a wide range of sports and markets using Sportradar's MTS and CTRL, calibrated against AI-driven pricing models and predictive market signals. Use machine learning insights and real-time data feeds not just reactively, but interrogatively identifying edges and inefficiencies before the market does. Ensure pricing accuracy and consistency across internal products and external partner integrations.
- Risk & Exposure Management: Monitor real-time liabilities and act as an intelligent human-in-the-loop layer over AI-generated risk alerts, knowing when to trust the model and when to override it. Implement proactive risk provisions using customer profiling data and automated flagging from Sportradar, OBT, and internal systems. Protect sportsbook margin while maintaining a competitive, customer-first product.
- Data Analysis & AI-Powered Insight: Leverage AI tools, BI platforms, and Sportradar's analytics dashboards to surface patterns, anomalies, and performance trends at speed and scale. Use prompt engineering and AI-assisted reporting to generate high-level KPI analysis for senior management, faster and smarter than traditional methods allow. Detect and escalate irregular betting patterns indicative of abuse or fraud.
- Live Trading Operations: Operate during live events with precision and composure, adjusting odds in real time based on live data feeds, AI-assisted pattern recognition, and evolving risk positions. Manage the live booking calendar (LBC) to ensure content remains relevant and engaging. Maintain full uptime and responsiveness during high-liquidity events, major matches, finals, and tournaments.
- Collaboration & Communication: Work cross-functionally with product, development, operations, risk, and marketing teams to integrate trading logic and AI driven data requirements. Partner with marketing on price boosts, trading specials, and player engagement initiatives. Mentor internal stakeholders on best practices, trading workflows, and the intelligent use of AI tooling.
Required Experience & Skills
- 2–5+ years of sports trading experience within an online sportsbook or retail operator environment.
- Proven, hands-on experience with Sportradar services: Odds Solutions, Live Data, MTS, and CTRL.
- Demonstrable use of AI tools to enhance trading efficiency, reporting, or decision-making.
- Proficiency in Excel (advanced formulas and data modelling); SQL and BI platform experience highly advantageous.
- Strong knowledge of high-volume sports: football, tennis, and basketball.
- Exceptional numerical and analytical ability with a high-pressure decision-making track record.
- Clear, confident communicator, able to translate complex data into actionable insights for non-technical stakeholders.
Nice-to-Have
- Experience with alternative data providers (Genius Sports, TxODDS, L-sports).
- Familiarity with AI augmented trading systems, automated pricing engines, or algorithmic trading logic.
- Strong understanding of American sports markets: NFL, NBA, NHL, and MLB.
- Experience in collegiate sports markets.
