The Technical Business Analyst is responsible for designing, implementing, testing and maintaining a diverse range of configuration assets in a new Advice Practice Management platform being launched by our client. Working in the delivery programmes configuration workstream, you will work closely with Business Analysts in an agile delivery team to translate business requirements specifications into build specifications. You will base your hands-on configuration implementation on these specifications, ensuring that the platform meets client, operational, and regulatory requirements, and delivers a high quality user experience for customers and all other users.

You will collaborate closely with the platform vendors Product Managers and Analyst Testers as the product matures and configuration tool features are released, including on defect triage, prioritisation and resolution. You will also work with the configuration teams Business Analysts to ensure appropriate and timely communication of configuration documentation across the programme. This role is a contract position for an initial 6 months working inside IR35 and on a hybrid or remote basis.

Platform Configuration & Maintenance
  • Configure and maintain platform components including:
  • Document templates for suitability reports, progress check reports and other key advice-related client documentation
  • Client profiles and advice firm hierarchies
  • Advice and service case workflow definitions
  • Advice case data capture
  • Fact finds and risk questionnaires
  • Advice panels and fee models
  • User role profiles and permissions

Ensure configuration implementations adhere to specifications, aligning with product design, regulatory requirements, and operational best practices. Follow change and version management best practices, always ensuring a high degree of control over live and development configuration states. Work with the platform vendor to manage and migrate configuration changes across development, test and production environments.

Quality Assurance & Testing
  • Perform unit testing and provide configuration-related support for integration, non-functional and user acceptance testing (UAT).
  • Validate configuration outcomes against business requirements and expected client behaviour.
  • Work closely with Business Analysts and the vendor to identify, record, triage and resolve configuration defects.
Change Delivery
  • Work collaboratively in a dynamic and geographically dispersed delivery team, embracing rapidly evolving requirements and product features, and embracing agile ways of working.
  • When required, participate in workshops with internal stakeholders, supporting the Business Analysts to clarify requirements and propose appropriate configuration-based solutions.
  • Contribute to the teams development of implementation plans, configuration timelines and delivery milestones.
Documentation & Knowledge Management
  • Produce and maintain clear configuration documentation, including:
  • Implementation design documents
  • Detailed configuration specifications and data dictionaries
  • Change impact assessments
  • Operational and support guides

Ensure that configuration documentation is kept up to date and specified to a high degree of detail and accuracy. Support knowledge transfer to other members of the configuration team, avoiding or resolving key person dependencies, and where required provide platform configuration expertise to other programme and operational teams.

Essential Experience
  • Deep hands-on experience in data capture, workflow and/or document production configuration on large scale CRM platform implementations (e.g. Salesforce, MS Dynamics), ideally within the wealth management sector and in a cloud-based/SaaS environment.
  • Experience with wealth management platforms, investment administration systems, or fintech SaaS products, and especially Advice CRM platforms.
  • A strong understanding of wealth management concepts, processes and operations.
  • Experience working collaboratively with Business Analysts to ensure simultaneous and consistent delivery of both detailed configuration specifications and configuration assets in the platform.
Desirable Experience
  • Familiarity with regulatory concepts affecting wealth management (e.g. FCA requirements, MiFID II, suitability, reporting).
  • An understanding of data models, APIs or system integrations (no coding required).
  • System testing experience.
