areera Intelligent Screen Recycling operates one of Europe’s most advanced screen recycling facilities, using robotics, machine learning, artificial intelligence, and imaging systems to process screens from 7" to over 100" and are the UK's largest recycler of televisions. The company handles a wide range of display equipment, including EPOS, monitors, CRTs, plasma, LED, LCD, and custom screens, as well as legacy CRT-based units. areera has WEEELABEX certification for television and plastics recycling, working towards R2 and ISO 9001, ISO 14001, and ISO 45001 certifications, positioning the company as a leader in safe, compliant display equipment recycling in the UK. The team is focused on innovation, environmental responsibility, and raising industry standards.
We are looking for two Shift Managers AM (6am to 2pm) & PM (2pm to 10pm) Monday to Friday no weekends, full-time, on-site role based at areera’s facility in Huddersfield HD3. This position oversees day-to-day operations across assigned shifts, ensuring safe, efficient, and compliant processing of display equipment and related materials.
Responsibilities include:
- Planning and coordinating shift activities
- Allocating resources
- Monitoring throughput, quality, and safety targets
- Leading, coaching, and supporting shift team members
- Managing staffing and task assignments
- Facilitating effective handovers between AM and PM shifts
- Working with logistics, maintenance, and quality teams to resolve issues
- Maintaining operational uptime
- Driving continuous improvement in processes, performance, and workplace standards
Background:
- Experienced in manufacturing or production driving productivity and shift targets
- Strong colleague coaching and management
- Ideally some experience of the waste and recycling industry - tonnes / kilos / legislation
- Previous leadership or supervisory experience in manufacturing, recycling or a related industrial environment
- Ability to interpret and follow standard operating procedures and health, safety, and environmental requirements
- Effective communication, problem-solving, and decision-making skills, with the ability to work under time and production pressure
- Comfort using basic digital tools and systems for scheduling, reporting, and performance tracking
- Willingness to work AM and PM shifts as required; relevant vocational training or qualifications are an advantage
Our full time HR, Operations, SHEQ, Transport and other shift managers will support you to achieve targets and production throughput, we operate three Television recycling centres in the UK (Elland & Huddersfield West Yorkshire and Bridgend, Wales).
