Salary: Up to £14.60 per hour (Qualified Support Worker salary is based on the proven existing completion of a Level 3 Diploma for Residential Childcare or equivalent)
Specific Hours: 20:00pm - 8:00am (12 hour shifts)
Benefits:

- Weekly rota on rotation - 48 hours
- Minimum average of 168 hours per calendar month
- 236 hours annual leave per annum (including bank holidays)
- Holiday increase per year - 12 extra hours for 3 years (capped at 272 hours)

- Enrolment and funding for required qualification if not already held
About Area Camden:
Area Camden, part of the Polaris Community, provides high-quality, consistent care to help young people achieve their goals. Our staff are carefully recruited and trained to ensure a safe, stable environment at night. We're now looking for a Casual Waking Night Support Worker to support the physical, emotional, and social development of the children and young people in our homes.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Stay awake and alert for the full night shift
- Ensure children's safety and wellbeing throughout the night
- Provide empathy, reassurance, and support when needed
- Support personalised bedtime routines and occasional activities
- Keep accurate computer-based records
- Follow the Philomena protocol for missing children
- Communicate with out-of-hours services and handle calls professionally
- Follow all Area Camden policies and act as a positive role model
- Contribute to the home's values and adapt to children's changing needs
Essential skills required:
- Strong teamwork, energy, and enthusiasm
- Knowledge of safeguarding children
- Able to follow tasks, record handovers, and maintain policies
- Good written and verbal communication
- Able to listen, engage, and act appropriately with children
- Organised, with good planning skills
- Willing to work toward a Level 3 Residential Childcare qualification (if not already held)
