As Waste Collection Services Manager, you will lead and develop the Council's waste collection services across the Borough, ensuring safe, efficient and customer-focused delivery for households, businesses, recycling and bulky waste collections. You will play a key role in driving service performance, leading continuous improvement, and ensuring compliance with statutory and Council requirements, while managing people, budgets, resources and operational infrastructure to support wider corporate and directorate objectives.
Please note this is a permanent, full-time post, working 36 hours per week. The working hours are Monday to Thursday 9.00am to 5.00pm and Friday 9.00 am to 4.30 pm.

ESSENTIALQUALIFICATIONS
- Degree or equivalent in a relevant subject area.
- Or 3 years relevant experience as outlined below.
EXPERIENCE
- A minimum of two years relevant management experience within waste and environmental service delivery, demonstrating responsibility for one or more of the following service areas:
- Management of waste collection infrastructure
- Delivery and performance management of kerbside household waste and recycling collection services
- Delivery and performance management of commercial waste and recycling collection services
- Management of in-house waste collection operations
- Oversight of a Special Collections (bulky items) service
- A proven ability to develop and lead a continuous improvement culture, ensuring the achievement of KPIs, corporate objectives and service-specific targets.
- Experience of working collaboratively with peers and a range of internal and external stakeholders to support effective service delivery.
- A demonstrable track record of delivering consistent, high-quality, customer-focused services, with a focus on service standards and continuous improvement.
- Ability to manage a team effectively.
- Ability to prioritise and manage conflicting work demands.
- Financial management.
- Project management/business improvement processes.
- Competent in the use of Microsoft applications.
