The Opportunity
Our client is looking for an experienced Principal Highways Structures Engineer to join their Bristol-based team, with a clear opportunity to develop and progress into a Bridge Manager role. This position is particularly suited to an experienced Principal or Senior Engineer who has developed strong technical knowledge across highway structures and bridges and is now looking to take the next step into bridge management and structural asset management. You do not need to already be a Bridge Manager. Our client is willing to invest in an experienced highways structures professional who has the technical foundations and ambition to develop into the position.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the management of a portfolio of bridges and highway structures.
- Review General Inspections, Principal Inspections and structural assessment reports.
- Identify structural defects, deterioration, risks and maintenance requirements.
- Support the planning of bridge maintenance, repair, strengthening and refurbishment works.
- Provide technical advice on bridges and highway structures.
- Review designs, assessments and engineering recommendations.
- Support structural risk management.
