Overview: Our client is seeking a motivated and reliable Trainee Water Technician / Logging Technician to join their growing water operations team covering the Oxford, Reading, and Aylesbury areas. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to build a long-term career within the water industry. Full training will be provided in leak logging, network monitoring, and water operations. The role will involve working outdoors, using specialist equipment to monitor water networks and assist in identifying leaks and abnormalities within the system. This position would suit candidates from labouring, utilities, construction, drainage, warehouse, plumbing, or other hands-on backgrounds.
Key Responsibilities:
- Install and retrieve noise logging equipment across water networks.
- Monitor and analyse data to assist in identifying potential water leaks.
- Carry out site visits across domestic, commercial, and public areas.
- Use handheld devices and specialist equipment to record findings accurately.
- Assist senior technicians and engineers with leak detection activities.
- Ensure all work is completed safely and in accordance with company procedures.
- Work outdoors in varying weather conditions and travel throughout the region.
- Maintain accurate records and complete reports where required.
- Deliver a professional and courteous service when interacting with members of the public.
Requirements:
- A proactive and hands-on attitude.
- Comfortable working outdoors and travelling between locations.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
- Ability to follow instructions and work independently when required.
- Basic understanding of utilities, construction, or plumbing environments is beneficial but not essential.
- Full UK driving licence (essential).
- Must be based within commuting distance of Oxford, Reading, or Aylesbury.
