We are currently looking for Trainee Drainage Operatives to join a growing team in Brentford/South West London. This is a great opportunity for individuals looking to start a long-term career in the water and utilities industry — no previous experience is required as full training will be provided. You will work in 2-person teams, supporting the installation, maintenance and monitoring of drainage systems across the network.
Role Details
- Permanent position
- 40 hours per week (Monday to Friday)

What You'll Be Doing (Full Training Provided)
- Assisting with the installation and maintenance of sewer monitoring equipment
- Supporting site set‑up and carrying out basic pre‑installation checks
- Learning how to maintain, calibrate and check equipment
- Helping to identify and report basic technical issues on site
- Completing digital job sheets and recording work carried out
- Working closely with your teammate to complete daily tasks
- Following all health & safety procedures, including confined space working (training provided)
- Communicating with supervisors and team members
- Supporting safe working practices for yourself, your team, and the public
- Assisting with manual tasks such as lifting manhole covers
- Working in a variety of environments, including confined spaces and at height
What We're Looking For
- A positive attitude and willingness to learn a new trade
- Good teamwork skills and reliability
- Basic communication and IT skills
- Awareness of health and safety (training will be given)
- Physically fit and comfortable with hands‑on work
- Willing to work outdoors in all weather conditions
- Full UK manual driving licence (essential)
