About the Role

Our client is seeking an experienced Wastewater Technician to join their wastewater inspection team. This is a hands-on role within a two-person operational team, where you will take responsibility for on-site decision-making, performance standards, health and safety compliance, and equipment readiness.

The primary focus of the role is wastewater chamber inspections, including lifting covers, identifying Dual Manholes, and completing detailed inspections using specialist 360° camera technology to produce high-quality digital models.

In the longer term, the role offers the opportunity to expand into a broader range of wastewater activities, including man-entry inspections, CCTV survey work, and additional wastewater operational duties. However, during the initial phase, the position will be predominantly centred on 360° camera inspection work.

All work supports the safe operation and maintenance of the Severn Trent wastewater network, with activities carried out across Severn Trent catchment areas.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and coordinate a two-person team on site, ensuring work is completed safely, efficiently, and to required standards
  • Act as the primary on-site decision-maker and point of responsibility
  • Take accountability for health and safety, including dynamic risk assessments and safe systems of work
  • Lift and inspect wastewater chambers, including Dual Manholes
  • Capture accurate 360° digital models using specialist inspection equipment
  • Carry out gas monitoring and confined space safety checks
  • Complete and record all equipment checks prior to use
  • Identify defects, hazards, or maintenance requirements and report findings clearly
  • Complete accurate inspection reports and associated documentation

Full training will be provided on the 360° camera technology and reporting systems.

Essential Requirements

  • Minimum of 2 years’ wastewater industry experience
  • Full UK driving licence
  • NRSWA Chapter 8 qualification

Proven experience in:

  • Working on Dual Manholes
  • CCTV surveys
  • Jetting
  • Rodding
  • Wastewater chamber inspections
  • Comfortable working in confined spaces and all weather conditions
  • Willingness to travel as required
