About the Role

Are you an experienced people manager with strong stakeholder engagement skills? Do you thrive in a fast-paced, target-driven environment and enjoy solving operational challenges at scale? If you're passionate about sustainability and want to play a meaningful role in improving water efficiency, we'd love to hear from you. The Wessex Water region faces increasing pressure on water resources, making water efficiency and demand reduction critical to ensuring long-term resilience. This role offers the opportunity to make a real environmental impact while leading high-performing operational teams. Working in partnership with Wessex Water and other key stakeholders, we deliver Smarter Home Visits and Smarter Business Visits across the region.

As Area Manager, you will be responsible for the operational delivery of these programmes, managing the logistics, performance, and quality of work delivered by plumbers and advisors in the field.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and coordinate field-based plumbers and advisors delivering water efficiency visits
  • Build and maintain strong working relationships with Wessex Water and other stakeholders
  • Supervise, motivate, and support teams to consistently meet performance targets and KPIs
  • Monitor service delivery, quality, and compliance, producing accurate and timely reports
  • Use MS Office 365 (or equivalent) tools to support communication, scheduling, reporting, and performance monitoring
  • Proactively identify and resolve operational issues to ensure smooth service delivery

About You

You will be able to demonstrate:

  • A significant track record in operational or area management
  • Proven experience supervising and motivating teams to achieve targets
  • Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills
  • Strong performance management capabilities with a focus on continuous improvement
  • The ability to thrive in a target-driven environment

Essential Requirements

  • Full UK driving licence
  • Ability to be reasonably insured to drive for work purposes
