Purpose of the Role:

To ensure the delivery of accurate and timely underwriting services to the Lectio Client Base. This requires an in-depth awareness of the Lectio Underwriting Parameters and the regulatory responsibilities of a Lloyds’ Coverholder. Whilst aligned to the Casualty line of business, the role requires commitment, awareness and support of all Lectio GWP growth targets.

Key Role Accountabilities:

  • Maintain a thorough knowledge and continued awareness of the Lectio DUA and Underwriting Parameters.
  • Support the Senior Underwriter in delivering a high-quality underwriting service on the PFP Casualty book.
  • Maintain a detailed understanding of the referral rules relative to the book and ensure professional and clear issuance of referrals to the panel.
  • Proactively monitor the utilisation performance relative to the Casualty Line of Business.
  • Support the senior underwriters and other Lectio colleagues in fostering a positive and respectful team environment.
  • Understand and support the end-to-end process relative to the Lectio book.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Minimum of 5 years within the London Insurance Market.
  • Experience and knowledge of a Lloyds’ Coverholder environment.
  • Experience as an Assistant UW within a Coverholder or Underwriting environment.
  • High level proficiency in MS Outlook, Word and Excel – PowerPoint experience can be beneficial.
  • Strong, analytical, verbal and written communication skills.

Person Specification:

The role would be split between home working and the London office. As such you should have the ability to be self-motivated/disciplined but also be a team player. This role requires a continued proactive mindset, including a desire to learn, whilst also encouraging and supporting team members. A commitment to support other lines of business as, and when required by the Lectio leaders.
