Purpose of the Role

The Catastrophe Analyst will provide cross‐functional analytical support across all areas of catastrophe modelling, helping drive revenue growth for Price Forbes. This role contributes critical insights that quantify the financial impact of natural and man‐made catastrophes on client portfolios, supporting both strategic decision‐making and effective risk management.

Workplace & Flexibility

This role offers flexible hybrid working. The successful candidate will be London‐based and expected in the office one day per week, with the remainder of the time spent working from home. Flexibility around working patterns is supported to help balance professional and personal commitments.

Key Responsibilities

  • Analyse and interrogate complex datasets to develop insights, inform conclusions, and produce bespoke visualisations tailored for clients and brokers— including the use of tools such as Power BI where appropriate.
  • Support brokers and clients by identifying, assessing, and quantifying catastrophe risk across multiple geographies and perils.
  • Apply best‐practice catastrophe modelling methodologies to ensure consistent, high‐quality output aligned with Ardonagh Specialty standards.
  • Assist in the delivery of modelling projects, ensuring assumptions, processes, and results are clearly documented and communicated.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Strong numerical capability with excellent analytical skills.
  • Confident communicator able to engage effectively with brokers, underwriters, and external clients.
  • Collaborative team player with the ability to clearly document work and explain technical findings.
  • Disciplined approach to applying industry best practice within catastrophe modelling.
  • 2–3 years of insurance industry experience, ideally with hands‐on use of catastrophe modelling platforms— Verisk Touchstone preferred.

Person Specification

  • Degree with a Geography, Environmental Science, Natural Hazards, or related discipline.
  • Working knowledge of SQL, Python, or other coding languages to support data manipulation and modelling workflows.
  • Experience using Power BI for dashboarding, interactive reporting, or data visualisation.
