Purpose of the Role:

The purpose of this role is to provide expert claims advocacy on complex worldwide property losses, acting as a trusted advocate for our clients throughout the claims lifecycle. The role provides expert technical advice, drives commercial claim strategies and works collaboratively with Insurers, Loss Adjusters and other stakeholders to secure the best possible outcomes for clients while delivering an exceptional claims experience.

Key Role Responsibilities:

  • Manage a portfolio of complex worldwide property claims from notification through to settlement, ensuring timely progression and resolution.
  • Act as a trusted advocate for clients, developing and executing claims strategies to achieve the best possible commercial outcomes.
  • Provide expert guidance on complex coverage issues, policy interpretation and claims processes.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, Insurers, Loss Adjusters, Legal Counsel and other key stakeholders.
  • Lead negotiations with Insurers and markets to secure fair and prompt settlements.
  • Deliver proactive, clear and timely communication to clients throughout the lifecycle of each claim.
  • Identify opportunities to improve claims outcomes through early intervention, strategic planning and effective stakeholder management.
  • Support new business and business retention by participating in client meetings, pitches, and market engagement.
  • Mentor and support junior members of the claims team, sharing knowledge and promoting technical excellence.
  • Ensuring all claims are managed in accordance with regulatory requirements, internal governance standards and client service expectations.
  • Maintain accurate claims records and management information, providing meaningful reporting and insights to clients and internal stakeholders.
  • Identify trends, lessons learned and emerging risks to share with the trading team.
  • Promote collaboration across broking and claims teams to deliver a seamless client experience.
  • Represent the business professionally in the London Market and Internationally, strengthening relationships and enhancing the firm’s reputation for claims excellence.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • A minimum of 10 years’ experience in the London Insurance markets in client / market facing roles.
  • Significant experience managing complex worldwide property claims within the Insurance market.
  • Strong technical knowledge of commercial property insurance policies, coverage interpretation and claims handling practices.
  • Experience of handling large and complex losses across multiple jurisdictions.
  • Demonstrable experience of negotiating with Insurers, Loss Adjusters and Legal representatives.
  • Strong understanding of the London Market, Lloyd’s and international insurance markets.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple complex claims while maintaining high service standards.
  • Experience supporting business development activities and building long term client relationships.
  • ACII qualified or working towards (preferred).
  • Educated to A Level Standard or equivalent.
