Overview

Monday to Friday 3 shift £58,000, Ashford, Kent.

Engineers – Not everyone can pull the sword from the stone. In modern factories, it’s the same idea… not everyone can step onto a production floor, face a breakdown, and bring a site back to life. At ARDO, when lines stop, alarms flash, and production pressure is on, we don’t look for shortcuts. We look for a Multi Skilled Engineer who’s earned the right to carry the tools. Your battlefield is the factory floor. From packing hall production lines and cold stores to refrigeration systems, cooling towers and wastewater plants, you’ll be responsible for keeping the kingdom running safely and efficiently. Some shifts you’ll be the only engineer on duty, standing shoulder to shoulder with the Production Shift Supervisor, owning the engineering performance of the site. You won’t just swing one sword either. You’ll carry both electrical and mechanical weapons, with a 60:40 skill balance. Fault finding on PLCs and SCADA systems. Power and control circuits. Pneumatics. Conveyor systems. Mechanical drives. Health and Safety is the law of the land here. You’ll lead by example, follow procedures, complete compliance checks, and make sure every job is done properly, not just quickly.

Responsibilities

  • Working closely with production teams and operators.
  • Driving continuous improvement.
  • Reducing waste and energy use.
  • Increasing uptime.
  • Improving line performance.
  • Supporting the delivery of factory KPIs.

Qualifications

  • An engineer with a completed UK engineering apprenticeship.
  • 17th or 18th Edition wiring regulations.
  • At least 5 years’ multi-skilled experience.
  • Strong fault-finding ability across electrical and mechanical systems.
  • MEWP/IPAF licence.
  • Computer literacy.
  • Food manufacturing experience (highly desirable).

This is more than just another maintenance role. It’s a chance to step into a business with real heritage, real standards, and real responsibility — where good engineers are trusted, respected, and given ownership. So… can you pull the sword from the stone? Apply now and prove you belong on this factory floor.
