At Ardmore, we deliver some of London’s most ambitious residential, commercial and hotel projects. We are looking for a Senior Solicitor to join our in-house Legal team, providing practical and commercially focused advice across a broad range of construction and business matters. This is a great opportunity for a construction solicitor who enjoys working closely with operational and commercial teams in a fast-paced environment and is ready to lead and develop a small team of junior solicitors and paralegals.
The Role: Reporting to the Head of Legal, you will support the business across the full project lifecycle, from contract negotiation through to project delivery, while overseeing and mentoring junior members of the legal team.
What You’ll Be Involved In:
- Reviewing, drafting and negotiating construction and project-related agreements
- Advising on subcontracts, consultant appointments, warranties, bonds and guarantees
- Supporting project and commercial teams on live contractual and legal matters
- Working across a range of dispute-related matters, including adjudication, mediation, arbitration and litigation
- Supporting the day-to-day management of claims and litigation involving the Group
- Working with internal commercial and project teams to gather evidence, review records and support case preparation
- Liaising with external solicitors, counsel and expert advisers where required
- Advising on issues such as payment, delay, disruption, defects, variations, termination and insolvency
- Helping develop legal processes, templates and internal best practice
- Leading, mentoring and supporting a small team of junior solicitors and paralegals
What We’re Looking For: You will be a qualified solicitor in England and Wales with strong construction law experience gained in private practice and/or in-house. You will also bring strong experience across construction law, including both contract drafting and project support, and excellent knowledge of JCT Design.
