To build on our success we are currently seeking project surveyors for several newly secured major projects across the capital. As Project Quantity Surveyor you will support the Senior/Managing surveyor for the day-to-day management of all commercial activities in the construction process of the project.
The Project: A £200 Million Residential superstructure will provide 462 apartments within seven new blocks. The tallest block, on the corner of West Cromwell and Warwick Road, rises to 33-storeys, making it one of the tallest buildings in the Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea! The new-build blocks are founded on top of an existing multi-storey car park, which will remain operational during the significant strengthening and alteration works needed to existing structure. In addition to the new homes, the West Cromwell Road scheme will deliver commercial and retail space along with public realm improvements.
Main Responsibilities:
- Procurement of Sub-Contractors; Ensuring Consultants and Supply packages are as far as possible within pre-agreed budgetary constraints.
- Work package tender returns are properly analysed, and pre-start meetings attended and detailed Order placement recommendations are submitted to the Senior and/or Managing Quantity Surveyor.
- Sub-Contractor/Consultant/Supplier claims are in the first instance properly administered subject to approval of the Managing and/or Senior Quantity Surveyor.
- Sub-Contract; Consultant and Suppliers final accounts are properly administered in accordance with the commercial interests of the Company.
- Attend design team meetings to ensure compliance with Contract and minimise unnecessary cost.
- In the absence of a Senior Quantity Surveyor carry out their role as adequately as possible and inform the Managing Surveyor and/or Head(s) of the Commercial Department of any duties you have difficulty with.
We’re Looking For:
- BSc in Quantity Surveying
- Chartered member of RICS or working towards
- Commercially astute with proven experience within a commercial role in the Construction Industry ideally from building construction projects.
- Excellent knowledge of Standard Forms of Contract (NEC & JCT) and Standard Methods of Measurement.
- Knowledge of Building Regulations (including Part B)
- Knowledge of NHBC Standards
