Responsible for all aspects of engineering on site and overseeing Setting-out engineers and Sub-contractors and responsible for Temporary works on site.
The Project We’re delivering Hackney Yards - a vibrant mixed-use scheme forming part of the Hackney Wick Masterplan. Spread across three architecturally striking plots near Hackney Wick Station, the project includes 190 affordable homes and over 44,000 sqft of commercial, retail, and creative workspace. Rising up to 8 storeys, the brick-clad buildings feature high-spec interiors, landscaped public spaces, roof terraces, and over-station elements - all designed to reflect the area’s bold, creative character.
Responsibilities
- Lead all setting out activities, ensuring accuracy across RC frames, groundworks, and structural elements.
- Manage site engineering surveys, including drainage, slab levels, lift shafts, stairwells, and as-built checks.
- Coordinate and verify construction drawings, ensuring dimensional accuracy and resolving clashes.
- Oversee Temporary Works implementation, ensuring compliance with design and safety procedures.
- Conduct QA inspections, including rebar checks, cube testing, and post-pour slab edge level surveys.
- Order and coordinate delivery of materials for RC frame, drainage, and waterproofing packages.
- Use Fieldview and 4Projects for QA documentation, inspections, and drawing management.
- Raise and track RFIs, resolve setting-out issues, and support overall site safety and compliance.
Qualifications
- Degree-qualified in Civil or Structural Engineering.
- Proven experience delivering engineering works on major construction projects—ideally RC frame, groundwork, and high-rise structures.
- Experience managing a team of engineers underneath you.
- Temporary Works accreditation with strong practical understanding of TWC/TWS responsibilities.
- Proficient in Fieldview for inspections, QA reporting, and issue tracking.
- Competent using 4Projects (or similar platforms) to manage and interpret drawings and project documentation.
- Skilled in setting out, surveying, and construction sequencing.
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills with the ability to liaise confidently with subcontractors, consultants, and the site team.
- Demonstrates a proactive approach to site safety, compliance, and quality control.
