We are currently seeking an EHS Advisor to support the construction of high value UK projects. The successful applicant will promote Ardmac’s Safety First Guiding Principles and ensure ongoing compliance with statutory obligations, ISO standards and Ardmac’s integrated management systems. This role will involve providing onsite support to delivery teams, reviewing documentation, carrying out inspections and developing a strong culture of safety, quality and environmental responsibility across all project activities. This position is based on a major industrial fit out project in the south west region of England.
Responsibilities
- Promote Ardmac’s Safety First culture and ensure all SHEQ standards are understood and implemented across sites.
- Assist in the development, implementation and maintenance of construction phase plans, H&S files and project-specific quality plans.
- Ensure subcontractors are pre-qualified and verified before commencing work.
- Review safety, environmental and quality documentation for adequacy and compliance.
- Coordinate and participate in project pre-start / pre-commencement meetings.
- Conduct regular site SHEQ audits and prepare weekly reports.
- Liaise with clients, regulatory representatives and internal stakeholders as required.
- Support statutory, ISO and Ardmac management system compliance across all live projects.
- Provide coaching and guidance to project teams to reinforce best practice and continuous improvement.
Qualifications and Experience
- DIP OHS or equivalent SHEQ / EHS qualification.
- Strong knowledge of occupational health and safety best practice.
- Understanding of quality and environmental management principles.
- Experience working with ISO management systems (ISO 45001, ISO 9001, ISO 14001).
- Strong organisational and communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
- Ability to influence, support and challenge site teams to continually improve SHEQ performance.
Experience:
- Previous experience in an EHS role within the construction sector.
- Experience delivering SHEQ audits and working with subcontractor compliance.
- Prior involvement in site-based operational support within a fast-paced construction environment.
- Fluency in English.
- Must be UK based with willingness to travel.
