Join our award-winning team at Ardingly College, a leading co-educational day and boarding school nestled in 240 acres of stunning countryside in West Sussex. We’re looking for a skilled and motivated Groundsperson to help maintain our sporting facilities and beautiful campus grounds.
️ About the Role
As a Groundsperson, you’ll be responsible for maintaining amenity and horticultural areas to a high standard, with a particular focus on sports turf and grounds maintenance. You’ll work with a dedicated team to ensure our pitches, gardens, and estate areas are safe, functional, and visually impressive.
Maintain sports surfaces including football, cricket, tennis, and hockey pitches
Operate and maintain grounds machinery (tractors, mowers, blowers, etc.)
Support landscaping, gritting, snow clearing, and event preparation
Assist with garden and flowerbed upkeep across the campus
Collaborate with the Grounds & Soft Services Manager and wider operational teams
What We’re Looking For
NVQ/IOG Level 2 in sports turf maintenance (or equivalent experience)
Practical experience in grounds work, ideally in schools, parks, or golf courses
Knowledge of sports surface care and horticulture
Self-motivated, team-oriented, and flexible in approach
What We Offer
Salary: £27,846 per annum
25 days holiday + option to purchase 5 extra days

Staff remission for children (subject to availability and entry requirements)
