Job Purpose
Ardian’s PE Buyout team is offering an analyst internship in the London office to assist in sourcing, analysis and execution of investments. The team is highly active in the LBO market in Europe and maintains a strong deal flow, providing interns with significant responsibilities from day one and frequent interaction with senior management and other investment teams. Successful interns often become permanent hires.
Responsibilities
- Collect and analyse information on target companies, their competitors and business sectors, and prepare materials for and participate in meetings with industry experts and management teams.
- Participate in the assessment of investment opportunities, including business analysis, company modelling, company valuation and research of comparables.
- Participate in the investment process by drafting the investment memorandum and reviewing due‑diligence work performed in commercial, financial, legal and other areas.
- Steer the team’s overall investment thesis by writing a sector paper on an industry around which you have conviction.
- Communicate and collaborate as an integral part of the London Buyout team, interacting daily with junior and senior team members, with other regional Buyout teams on select topics, and with other Ardian teams; maintain regular interaction with external advisors (commercial, financial, legal, M&A, etc.) and management teams.
Qualifications
- Strong commercial understanding of Private Equity and knowledge of LBO modelling.
- Broad set of quantitative, qualitative and interpersonal skills; strong team player; intellectual rigour and discipline; ability to organise and perform work efficiently.
- Knowledge of financial statement analysis, valuation techniques and competent use of Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
- Degree either completed or due to complete from a leading university, minimum 2:1 or equivalent.
- At least one previous internship in private equity, M&A of a leading investment bank, transaction services of a leading audit firm or leading strategy consulting firm.
- English native or fluent.

Ensure compliance with all relevant statutory and regulatory requirements applicable to the role. Understand the Individual Conduct Rules set out by the UK Regulator and ensure compliance in letter and in spirit.
