A leading City law firm is seeking a mid‑level associate to join its highly regarded Tax team, with a focus on asset management work. The role offers exposure to a broad range of tax matters for asset managers across alternative asset classes, including private equity, venture, credit, infrastructure and real estate.
Work will include fund structuring and formation, advising asset managers on carried interest and co‑investment arrangements, tax aspects of acquisitions and disposals (including secondaries and GP stake transactions), and wider advisory and contentious tax issues. There will also be opportunities to advise institutional investors on complex fund‑related tax matters.
The successful candidate will work closely with colleagues across Tax, Funds, Financial Services and transactional teams, benefiting from high‑quality, technically complex work and strong training and development support.
Qualifications
- Applicants should be England & Wales qualified with 3–6 PQE and a strong academic background.
- Some experience in asset management or partnership tax is desirable but not essential; genuine interest in this area and a solid grounding in tax advisory work are key.
- Strong technical skills, commercial awareness and a collaborative approach are required.
