A leading international law firm is seeking a talented Pensions Associate (2–8 PQE) to join its highly regarded pensions team in Leeds. This is an outstanding opportunity to join a market‑leading practice recognised in both Chambers and Partners and The Legal 500 for its technical excellence and breadth of expertise. The team advises a diverse client base including trustees, employers, public sector bodies and financial institutions on the full spectrum of pensions matters.
The Role
- You will advise on a wide range of contentious and non-contentious pensions issues, including:
- Scheme governance and administration
- Benefit redesign and liability management exercises
- Corporate transactions and pensions due diligence
- Funding negotiations and regulatory matters
- De‑risking projects including buy‑ins and buy‑outs
- Member disputes and interaction with the Pensions Regulator
The work is varied, high‑quality and often cross‑border, with strong integration across corporate, employment, restructuring and disputes teams.
The Candidate
- The ideal candidate will:
- Have 2–8 years’ PQE with solid pensions experience gained at a recognised pensions practice
- Demonstrate strong technical skills and commercial awareness
- Be confident managing client relationships and working as part of a collaborative national team
- Show a genuine interest in developing a long‑term career in pensions law
