This City firm, with a leading construction practice, would like to appoint an experienced construction lawyer as a PSL as part of their strategic development plan for the team. The role would suit either an existing PSL or an experienced fee earner with excellent practice experience and is offered on a permanent part-time basis – 4 day week / 80% FTE – though there is flexibility to consider alternative arrangements.
This is a first-time appointment for the construction team, making it an exciting opportunity for someone to really make the role their own and shape the knowledge function.
Responsibilities
The role will focus on the non-contentious side of the sector. Key objectives have been identified as:
- Establishing a precedent bank of construction documents and know-how (based on existing documentation).
- Putting together training and know-how sessions.
- Keeping lawyers in the team up to date with legal knowledge.
- Identifying and embedding innovative technology and tools.
- Producing excellent resources for both the team and clients by way of written materials, thought leadership, and training.
- Assisting with the management and development of junior members of the team.
- Participating in pitches and business development.
