The Role

As an Application Engineer your focus is on developing tailored technical solutions for customers, supporting projects from initial concept through to delivery. Working closely with sales, operations and engineering teams, you will help translate customer requirements into practical, high-quality and commercially viable solutions. You will also produce technical documentation, provide technical support and ensure solutions are safe, compliant and fit for purpose.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Working with the sales team to understand customer requirements and develop technical concepts
  • Translating customer needs into practical and deliverable engineering solutions
  • Supporting operational teams to ensure solutions are ready for procurement, assembly and installation
  • Producing and maintaining technical documentation such as drawings, BOMs and HAZIDs
  • Liaising with customers and internal stakeholders to provide technical guidance and support
  • Reviewing technical risks, identifying issues early and helping to ensure compliance
  • Supporting installation and deployment activities, including technical sign-off where required
  • Acting as a point of escalation for more complex technical queries
  • Gathering feedback to support continuous improvement and product development
  • Keeping up to date with relevant technologies, industry trends and market developments

What we’re looking for:

  • Understanding of automotive, mechanical and electrical engineering
  • Experience designing mechanical components
  • Ability to produce technical documentation
  • Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills
  • CAD experience, ideally SolidWorks
  • Good Microsoft Office skills
  • A proactive and organised approach
  • STEM-related degree preferred
