The Role...
We have an exciting new opportunity for a passionate environmentalist, that will provide countless opportunities to make a positive difference and expand knowledge. You will be supporting our business and customers to deliver legal and voluntary sustainability and environmental objectives. This varied role will put you in contact with colleagues across our business, clients and statutory regulators, where we’ll look to you to build collaborative relationships.
Here are some of the activities you’ll be involved with...
- Provide expert environmental advice across all phases of planned and unplanned works
- Establish baseline conditions and ensure regulatory compliance whilst promoting the safeguarding of the environment
- Undertake inspections and audits ensuring legal compliance
- Monitor, analyse and report on environmental performance
- Produce plans for environmental management (EMS), waste, material management and emergency response
- Deliver training at all levels of the business, that promotes a positive culture and provides employees with the skills to safely achieve environmental & sustainability objectives
- Monitor and review environmental events, ensuring incidents and near misses are correctly reported, categorised, and investigated
- Deliver learning outcomes and continuous improvements
We would love to hear from you if you can demonstrate the following...
- Extensive experience working in the environmental sector and in-depth knowledge of relevant legislation.
- Significant experience in waste management and a detailed understanding of environmental permits and compliance.
- Significant experience working with ecology, archaeology, arboriculture and water environment specialisms.
- Proven experience writing, coordinating and managing consents, assent and permit applications.
- Significant experience compiling data and supporting assessments related to ESOS, SECR and ISO14064.
- A relevant professional qualification e.g., IEMA, CIWEM, IES, CIWM and a degree in an environmental discipline are important, as is experience implementing ISO14001.
- A full and valid driving license is essential.
