We're looking for an experienced and passionate Assistant Restaurant Manager to join our Food & Beverage team and help lead the day-to-day operation of our Orangery Restaurant
Working closely with the Orangery Restaurant Manager, you'll play a key role in creating an exceptional dining experience for our guests while leading, supporting and developing the restaurant team
This is a hands-on leadership role for someone who loves hospitality, enjoys being present on the floor and knows how to bring out the best in a team
What you'll be doing
As Assistant Restaurant Manager, you'll support the Restaurant Manager with the smooth and successful running of the Orangery, with responsibility for our Restaurant Supervisors and Food & Beverage Assistants.

Your role will include

  • Leading the restaurant team during service and ensuring consistently high standards
  • Creating a warm, welcoming and memorable experience for every guest
  • Supporting, motivating and developing the team through regular feedback, coaching and training
  • Running effective pre-shift briefings, covering VIP guests, special occasions, dietary requirements, menu updates and service priorities
  • Ensuring the team has excellent knowledge of our menus, beverages and wider hotel offering
  • Handling guest feedback and complaints professionally and finding effective resolutions
  • Supporting recruitment, onboarding and the ongoing development of new team members
  • Managing staffing levels and payroll in line with business requirements
  • Identifying opportunities to increase sales, encourage appropriate upselling and improve restaurant performance
  • Supporting the achievement of departmental budgets and commercial targets
  • Ensuring restaurant standards, SOPs and opening and closing procedures are consistently followed
  • Maintaining excellent standards of food hygiene, cleanliness, health & safety and allergen awareness
  • Taking Duty Management responsibilities when required
  • Working collaboratively with colleagues across Food & Beverage and the wider property to deliver an excellent overall guest experience

About You
You'll be a confident and approachable hospitality leader who genuinely enjoys looking after both guests and your team.

  • Must have previous experience in a supervisory or management role within a restaurant, hotel or high-quality hospitality environment
  • Must have an excellent understanding of restaurant operations and service standards
  • Must have a genuine passion for delivering exceptional guest experiences
  • Must have experience leading, motivating and developing a team
  • Must have excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Must have confidence dealing with guest feedback and resolving issues
  • Must have good commercial awareness, with an understanding of sales, payroll and cost control
  • Must have excellent organisational skills and the ability to remain calm during busy services
  • Must have knowledge of food hygiene, allergens and health & safety requirements
  • Must be a positive, hands-on leadership style and willingness to support the wider Food & Beverage operation

Most importantly, you'll be someone who leads from the front, takes pride in the standards around you and helps create an environment where both guests and team members feel looked after

  • Full flexibility is key as you will be expected to work as and when necessary to meet the needs of the team and the business
