We’re looking for an enthusiastic and hands-on Assistant Leisure Manager to join the team at Ardencote. Working closely with the Leisure & Membership Manager, you’ll help lead the day-to-day operation of our leisure facilities, ensuring our guests and members enjoy a safe, welcoming and consistently high-quality experience. From our swimming pools and thermal facilities to the gym and sports courts, you’ll be a visible presence across the department – supporting the team, engaging with members and guests, and making sure everything runs smoothly.

What You’ll Do

  • Supporting the daily running of our leisure facilities
  • Leading and supporting the Leisure team while on shift
  • Ensuring pools, thermal areas, gym and sports facilities are safe, clean and well presented
  • Complete opening, closing and operational safety checks
  • Supporting pool plant checks, water testing and accurate record keeping
  • Welcoming and engaging with guests and members throughout their visit
  • Supporting membership enquiries, tours, onboarding and retention
  • Helping coordinate rotas and provide operational cover when required
  • Supporting the training and development of new team members
  • Responding to guest and member feedback, resolving issues where possible
  • Reporting maintenance issues and work with other teams to keep facilities operating effectively
  • Supporting leisure classes, activities, programming and events
  • Helping monitor facility usage and identify opportunities to improve performance
  • Acting as the senior Leisure team member on duty when the Leisure & Membership Manager is unavailable
  • Help maintain high standards of Health & Safety, COSHH, PPE, fire safety and emergency procedures

What We’re Looking For

  • You’ll be someone who enjoys being visible, involved and part of the action.
  • You’ll be comfortable supporting a team while also delivering excellent service directly to guests and members.
  • Must have experience within a leisure, fitness, spa, health club or similar environment.
  • Must have previous supervisory or team leadership experience.
  • Must have excellent understanding of guest and member service.
  • Must have confidence communicating with guests, members and colleagues.
  • Must have good organisation skills and the ability to prioritise during busy shifts.
  • Must have a proactive, practical approach to problem solving.
  • Must have an understanding of Health & Safety within a leisure environment.
  • Pool operations, water testing or pool plant knowledge would be an advantage.

Additional Information

  • Full-time - 40 hours per week
  • Working 5 out of 7 days a week
  • Salary: £31,000 per annum
